Questions for Further Thought & Discussion…
- Define “smart.” Define “educated.” Define “common sense.” Define “wise.” Which would you rather be/have? Why?
- Read Proverbs 12:15 and 26:12. Explain a time when you were too smart for your own good. What did you learn from that experience?
- Read 1 st Kings 3:4-15. What is the correlation between wisdom and success, wealth and status?
- Read Proverbs 1:8; 2:1; 3:1; 4:1, 2; 5:1; 6:20, 21; 7:1-3. What commands, instruction, teaching and words is the author referring to? (Hint- Read Deuteronomy 6:4-9) What is the relationship between God’s Word and wisdom?
- Read Job 12:12 and Proverbs 16:11. Why would an older person be considered wise?
- Read Proverbs 9:10. Our education system has tried to be value-free or value-neutral for at least a generation now. Can a real education be value-free or value-neutral? Why/why not, and explain.
