MINISTER OF THE MONTH

“Can you hear me now?” If so, thank Kris Hernandez . She has proven to be a quick study on the sound board since joining the “Bells and Whistles” Team back in the booth! Her steady contribution to our Sunday morning Worship makes her April’s Minister of the Month!

CALLING ALL GVCC WOMEN!

The Women’s Ministry Team invites all the women at GVCC to stay after Worship today for a planning meeting. We would like to hear your ideas or wishes for future activities for the women of our church. Please come, even if you can only stay for a short time.

ROOM REDO

Green Valley is looking for a few good people to help with a Children's Wing classroom project. We want to use our space more efficiently, and make it easier for our teachers to access both the classrooms and the supplies. If you are interested in helping with planning the project, moving stuff, remodeling & painting rooms or just want to help where you can, call Mike Nicholson for more information.

AGE DOESN’T MATTER!

Whether you’re 4, 14, 40, or anywhere in between or beyond, Family Bible Night on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:15 has a class for you.

Parents, encourage your junior high and high schoolers to finish their homework early so they don’t miss out on all that’s happening in our youth ministry. Student Ministry Leader Josh Larsen always has exciting plans for this active group. If you’ve got younger children, there’s a program just for them. You can stay too! The adult Bible study with Pastor Scott is going on at the same time. So, make some time in your week for FBN; it will benefit your whole family.

PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

The 57th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 1, 2008. The theme for this year is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield" and is based on the verse from Psalm 28:7 which states: "The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped."

Dr. Ravi Zacharias, Christian apologist and evangelist, will help lead this nation in prayer as the 2008 Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force. Through the efforts of the Task Force, more than 35,000 prayer gatherings will be conducted by approximately 40,000 volunteers across the country. Several million people are expected to participate in this call to prayer for our nation, its leaders and citizens.

Green Valley will participate by holding its own twelve hours of prayer on May 1st. Our church building will be open, from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for you to come in and pray. All are invited to attend the short communion service that will be held at 6:00 p.m. The twelve hours have been divided into fifteen minute time periods. Please signup in the Lobby today for one or more time slots. Your participation will help to ensure that there will be continuous prayer here at GVCC for the entire twelve hours.

LOVING CARE

Our dedicated nursery volunteers are available to care for your children (infant through three years old) during the entire Worship service.

OVERHEARD…

Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you can do. Attitude determines how well you do it.                                                   ~Len Holtz
