MINISTER OF THE MONTH
 Since we’ve changed our Worship style and adopted the “Team” approach, it has been refreshing to see so many people step out
in faith and participate. In particular, it has been wonderful to have Gloria Jacobsen set an example for us all, as she brings her smile and voice to the ministry. This fearless (?) expression
of faith and devotion earns her February’s Minister of the Month honors. Be sure to thank her for her contribution to our church family.

 WHAT’S YOUR BID?
The fun begins right after Worship today in Fellowship
Hall. All our donated, delicious desserts will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. All monies go to help fund our mission trip to Nicaragua and all desserts go to good homes! (Maybe even yours.)
Our team (Dietrich, Karen, Charlene & Megan Gage, Dominic Piccolo, Tyler
Nicholson and Amy Helfrich) will be leaving for Ometepe Island in Nicaragua very early Saturday morning, February 16th and returning Sunday, February 24th. They
will be encouraging our missionaries, Tom & Esther Fritz and their family, plus helping put on a special event for the island’s pastors. This is our congregation’s
opportunity to help our team raise the money needed for the costs of the trip. We might not all be able to go to the mission field, but, along with prayer, we can help out by bidding. Plan to stay for the fun.

PRAYER & BREAKFAST
 Just as breakfast is an important part of our day nutrition-wise,
prayer should be a vital part of every believer’s life. GVCC’s Prayer Team is dedicated to supporting our congregation with prayer. All team members are invited to a Prayer Breakfast on Sunday, March 2nd, at 8:45 am in the Fireside Room. If you’d

 WORK DAY
GVCC’s wooden fence that faces Ridge Vista is looking pretty shabby,
so on Saturday, March 8th, get your tools and come join the team that will be replacing it. The work starts at 10 am. Lunch will be provided. More details to follow.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
 The end of March is soon approaching which means that GVCC’s fiscal year is coming to a close. Every year we have our annual
meeting and potluck where the church body comes together to examine the past year’s events and spending, and approve the budget for the coming fiscal year. Plan to stay after Worship on Sunday, March 16th. We’ll let you know later what to bring to the potluck.

THE SEVEN STANDARDS OF DISCIPLESHIP
A disciple of Christ is a baptized believer whose
devotion to God is demonstrated in the following ways:
1. Consistent daily prayer, Bible reading, repentance and personal renewal.
2. Regular financial contribution to the work of the Lord being carried out by the congregation.
3. An understanding of spiritual authority,
demonstrating a willing submission to the guidance and counsel of the church leadership.
4. Commitment to personal accountability through
involvement in a small group and/or one-on-one discipling relationship.
5. Dependable participation in the scheduled activities of the congregation.
6. Reliable service in a designated area of
ministry within the congregation; under the supervision of its leadership.
7. Active compassion for those in need and a heart for the lost.
