MINISTER OF THE MONTH

Green Valley is blessed to have a sister like Linda Karadunis. She has offered her voice to the Worship Team as a way to bless us on Sunday morning. She also keeps track of all our birthdays and anniversaries and sends cards to encourage and bless us. Her considerate and thoughtful dedication to these ministries make her July’s Minister of the Month. Take a moment to acknowledge her with a hug or a kind word!

STARTING TODAY
GROOVY NEW SERMON SERIES!

Break out the tie-dye and
bell bottoms and get ready for
The Summer of Love

We have just finished a 12-week tour of the Spiritual Gifts. Did you discover yours? The next step is to put your Gift into action. The key to using your Spiritual Gift is Love! Pastor Scott and the Pulpit Team are preparing a 7-week series on this essential topic, starting this morning Let’s spend the summer learning more about Love: what it is, what it isn’t, what it looks like, who and how we should love; from a Biblical perspective. We’ll see you this summer!

LETTER WRITING PARTY

A local church is sending a team to Tanzania this summer, and has asked if we’d like to send correspondence to the children we support in Dodoma.

If you haven’t written your letter yet or would like to write letters to those children whose sponsors are not at Green Valley, come to the Fireside Room after Worship on Sunday, July 20th. We’ll have a list of children and materials all ready for you to start writing. All letters must be turned in by July 20th.

NEW ARRIVAL

Kathy & Hansel Lee are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Karis Elisheva Lee. She was born at home in Colorado at 5:41 am on Thursday, July 3rd. Karis is 8 pounds exactly and 21 ¾ inches long. The new parents are thrilled more than they ever imagined.

If you’re curious about her name, Karis (pronounced “care-is”) is the Greek word for “grace”. Elisheva (pronounced “ella-she-vah”) is the Hebrew word for “God is my Oath/Sustenance”.

VISITING MISSIONARIES

GVCC is fortunate to have two of our missionary families visiting us this summer. Wayfull Jew arrived Friday from Hong Kong to join wife Helen, who arrived earlier. Next month, Esther Fritz and the children fly in from Nicaragua followed by Tom, a couple weeks later. Make sure you connect with them for the short time that they’re here. If you’re new to Green Valley and haven’t met them yet, be sure and introduce yourself.

OVERHEARD…

“What makes you think the whole world revolves around you?!” my mother said, as I slowly rotated to maintain eye contact.                                    ~John Alejandro King

Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he isn’t. A sense of humor was provided to console him for what he is.                                ~Horace Walpole

DON’T FORGET

While you and your family are off enjoying your vacation this summer, please don’t forget to continue your contributions to the Lord’s work. Ministry at Green Valley keeps happening all year long.
