MINISTERS OF THE MONTH

Did you ever notice that it’s the littlest things that make the biggest impact! Things that when done well go unnoticed, but when not done make life difficult? March’s Ministers of the Month know this, and have taken it upon themselves to see that some of the little things get done here at Green Valley. The Samaros; Cruz, Alexandria and Lisa; make sure that pencils are sharpened, pew racks are stocked with Bibles, and the pews are cleared of litter. Thank them for helping to make your worship experience so pleasant.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

The end of March is soon approaching which means that GVCC’s fiscal year is coming to a close. Every year the church body comes together to examine the past year’s events and spending, and catches the vision for the coming fiscal year.

Be sure to join us March 16th as we have our Annual Congregational Meeting and Potluck. In the spirit of having a “healthy” fiscal year, our potluck is taking the form of a Soup, Salad, and Sandwich Bar. GVCC will provide the restaurant-style salad bar and drinks. We need you to bring sandwich components (meat, cheese, bread), homemade soups and desserts. Please sign up today in the Lobby after Worship.

PROTECT MARRIAGE

Values-based organizations have joined together to protect marriage between a man and a woman in California. Petitions are in the lobby to put an initiative on the November 2008 ballot that would place this definition of marriage in the California State Constitution: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is recognized or valid in California.” Please, only voters registered in Santa Clara County should sign.

GVCC and San Jose Church of Christ are joining to offer a Good Friday night service on March 21st at 7:00 p.m. Invite a friend or neighbor for this special time with God.

EASTER INVITATION

Easter Sunday is early this year; it’s on March 23rd, which is just two weeks away. GVCC is mailing out over 2000 postcard invitations to our neighbors. Whom from your circle of family, friends, co-workers or neighbors are you planning to invite to our Easter morning service? Easter is one of two times during the year (the other being Christmas) that non-church attenders are most open to going to church. Be praying that the Holy Spirit will prepare their hearts for your invitation.

PLAY BALL!

Men, the Spring softball season starts next month at Twin Creeks and Green Valley is once again fielding a team. The cost is just $30/person. Bring a friend from work or the neighborhood to play with us. For more info, contact Pastor Scott.

LOVING CARE

Our dedicated nursery volunteers are available to care for your children (infant through three years old) during the entire Worship service.

OVERHEARD…

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

~Douglas Adams
